Equipment description
FTIR spectroscopy is well-suited for analyzing organic and certain inorganic elements, as it provides information on chemical bonds and molecular structures. Each molecule absorbs infrared light at wavelengths characteristic of its vibrational modes. Measuring the infrared spectrum often allows for the identification of the molecular composition of various types of samples, including solids, liquids, and viscoelastic materials. The diamond ATR accessory enables analysis of most samples without special preparation. It also allows for recording infrared spectra at various temperatures between 20 and 200°C. Polarized measurements are also possible.
