Equipment description
Infrared spectroscopy is ideally suited for analyzing organic molecules and certain inorganic compounds, as it provides information on chemical bonds and molecular structures. Each molecule absorbs infrared light at wavelengths characteristic of its vibrational modes. An analysis of the infrared spectrum often allows for the identification or confirmation of the molecule being analyzed. With the various available accessories, it is possible to analyze lipid systems, proteins, and various organic molecules in liquids or solutions at different temperatures. High-resolution analysis of gaseous samples is also possible. Dried samples can also be studied.
