Equipment Description
Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is a thermal analysis technique widely used for the characterization of materials. It enables the determination of the temperatures and associated enthalpies of various transitions, including the glass transition (Tg), melting (Tm), crystallization (Tc), solid–solid transitions (polymorphism), and liquid-crystal transitions. DSC can also be used to determine the degree of crosslinking of polymers. Analyses are performed under an inert atmosphere (nitrogen).
