Equipment Description
Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) troughs enable the formation and characterization of monomolecular films with precise control over thickness, orientation, and molecular packing. This technique can be used to fabricate two-dimensional nanomaterials. The formation of LB films at the air–water interface and their transfer onto solid substrates can be applied to various fields of nanotechnology, including biomembrane characterization and molecular interactions, organic and inorganic coatings, and the study of surfactants and colloids.
Our KSV Nima systems enable the acquisition of isotherms and hysteresis curves. Langmuir–Blodgett or Langmuir–Schaefer transfers can also be performed onto solid substrates such as germanium, mica, and glass.
