The joint CERMA-CRMR EDI Committee would like to warmly congratulate Maylis Carrère, recipient of the CERMA-CRMR EDI Scholarship, on the successful completion of her outstanding project focusing on people with disabilities. The project took the form of an inspiring conference led by Simon Chouinard, Director General of Entrepreneuriat ULaval, entitled “A Testimonial on a Professional Journey Living with a Disability,” held on June 15, 2024.

The conference provided an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the experiences of people with disabilities and to explore ways to facilitate their access to graduate studies.

In addition to playing a key role in organizing the event, Maylis also professionally, rigorously, and sensitively moderated the conference, greatly contributing to the success of this initiative.

Maylis is a PhD candidate in Wood Engineering and Biosourced Materials in the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences, under the supervision of Véronic Landry. Her commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion reflects inspiring leadership within our university community.

Thank you, Maylis, and once again, congratulations!
