Equipment Description
This instrument measures the surface tension of a well in which a lipid monolayer is initially formed. Once stability is reached, an analyte (peptide, protein, drug, etc.) is injected into the subphase, and its interaction with the surface monolayer is monitored over time. This makes it possible to determine interaction synergies. The instrument is equipped with four wells, allowing simultaneous analyses. Kinetics can also be accelerated by stirring with small magnetic stir bars.
In the laboratory, this instrument is commonly used to study the interactions of peptides, proteins, and small molecules with different lipids.
