Equipment Description

Following the deposition of a lipid at the surface of the well, the film is compressed by barriers, and the surface tension is measured as a function of area. An analyte (peptide, protein, drug, etc.) is injected into the subphase, and its interaction with the surface monolayer is monitored over time.

In the laboratory, this instrument is commonly used to study the interactions of peptides, proteins, and small molecules with different lipids.
