Equipment Description

Electrophoresis is a technique used to separate molecular species by their migration through a gel. A potential difference is applied between the two ends of the apparatus, causing charged species within the gel to migrate toward one electrode or the other depending on the sign of their charge. The extent of migration depends on the molecule’s charge and size.
