Equipment Description

This industrial atmospheric-pressure plasma reactor uses a cold plasma jet or a dielectric barrier discharge generated from an adjustable gas mixture, depending on the desired surface modifications. Its three interchangeable heads allow a wide range of samples to be treated, from metals and fibers to liquids.


It is primarily used in the laboratory to modify fiber surfaces and treat biological solutions.

  • Treatment options: dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) jet, large-area dielectric barrier discharge, and corona jet

  • Available gases: oxygen, helium, argon, nitrogen, etc.

  • Water injection: possible

  • Liquid and aqueous solution treatment: possible (e.g., acrylic acid)

  • Treated surface area: variable (due to the robotic arm), up to approximately 1 m²

  • Operating voltage: 1–10 kV

  • Operating frequency: 10 kHz

  • Treatment temperature: approximately room temperature
