Equipment Description

This Zeiss inverted microscope enables fluorescence imaging of a wide range of specimens, including opaque samples, gels, hydrogels, and tissues. The system can automatically acquire images at different time points, across different regions of the sample (tile), and at different depths (Z-stack).

The ZEISS LSM 800 is a high-end laser scanning confocal microscopy system. It is compact and versatile, and its configuration with three highly sensitive GaAsP detectors allows users to optimize the system for three key requirements in confocal microscopy: resolution, signal-to-noise ratio, and imaging speed.

The LSM 800’s linear scanning mode increases scanning speed while improving the signal-to-noise ratio by approximately 29%. Unlike other super-resolution techniques, it retains the imaging and optical sectioning capabilities of confocal systems. The LSM 800 can be configured according to specific research needs and adapted to future requirements through its various available options.
