Equipment Description

This small atmospheric-pressure plasma reactor is specifically designed for the amination of planar material surfaces, particularly polymer films, fabrics, and similar substrates. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is generated in a nitrogen–hydrogen gas mixture, enabling hydroxyl groups at the outermost surface of the material—particularly those arising from moisture—to be replaced by amine groups.

Technical Specifications

  • Support dimensions (and maximum sample size): 5 × 7.5 cm

  • Treated surface area: 2.5 × 2.5 cm at the center of the support

  • Operating pressure: Atmospheric pressure (760 Torr)

  • Working gas: N₂ (95%) : H₂ (5%) mixture

  • Operating frequency: 3 kHz

  • Operating voltage: 10 kV

  • Treatment temperature: Approximately room temperature

Areas of expertise

  • Surface amination

  • Atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment
