Confocal Raman Spectrometer

Laboratory

NSERC–Canlak Industrial Research Chair in Interior Wood Products Finishing

Department

Department of Wood and Forest Sciences

Manufacturer (Model)

Bruker (Senterra II)

Equipment Description

This spectrometer is primarily used to identify the vibrational modes of organic molecules (including polymers and nanomaterials), as well as inorganic and hybrid compounds. It enables molecular composition analysis both at the surface and beneath the surface of a sample. A wide variety of materials and sample types, including powders, liquids, films, and coatings, can be analyzed using this technique. The instrument offers excellent wavenumber accuracy and outstanding stability, ensuring precise and highly reproducible results.
